Removing the dash on a W123 is child's play. I'm told, however, that removing the dash on a 114/115 is the extreme opposite and takes about a day. That's why the death of the fan motor has often meant the death of the car; the process of getting to the fan is a little like unearthing the evap unit on a W140.
