I was recently trying to take the dash out of a W115 at the pull a part to replace the one in my 240D, but after taking off the bottom support rods, I couldn't figure out how to get to whatever is holding it behind the dash.
The center console was previously removed. Any tips? I've also removed dashs from W123s ans W201s. The W115 was by far the worst. I even tried to drive the W115 without the dash and I forgot about the oil pressure sensor line and felt the hot oil on my leg. I tried to put my thumb over the line and drive back to my parking spot but the pressure was too great and oil too hot. I'm told, however, that removing the dash on a 114/115 is the extreme opposite and takes about a day. That's why the death of the fan motor has often meant the death of the car; the process of getting to the fan is a little like unearthing the evap unit on a W140.
