People often call the steering gear the "rack" and I assumed Dan was doing just that. My gearbox had never been touched - there was no need. I'll have to give it a good cleaning an see what transpires.There is black grime all over the gearbox. The the fluid stain is just below it,not below the PSP as I first stated. After I hear what you all tell me I suspect that one of the connections down there may be leaking. Hope I can get on these fittings with an open end wrench. Don't have tubing wrenches.
