Way to go , Curt. As you now, that alternator belt will need frequent
tightening -I think we have discussed the squeal feature before.

Subject: [MBZ] 240D alternator belt replaced

Stopped at Car Quest and got a new alternator belt today. The guy there
amazed me when I explained that there were two lengths "You need the longer
one." Uhh, yeah.

Replacement is easy except I had a helluva time getting the PS pump belt out
of the way, I guess I don't really understand how the pump moves. I got 'er
though.

Then getting the stupid alternator tight enough... And of course just now I
realize I haven't tightened the alternator mount bolt... Crap.

Oh well, I took it for a ride and that went well enough so a quick
tightening and it'll be really done. The engine isn't wet with coolant
anymore either.
