Since we're treading down this path, I'm gonna post the list of sample chapters from the novel "Absolved" here. It's a 'future history', taking a retrospective look at a civil war that hasn't happened yet. He calls it the Restoration War, because it's the civil war that restored the Constitution. The author seems to hold the military and local sheriffs in fairly high regard, but has a lower opinion of politicians and federal law enforcement.
The author took the title from this Locke quote:“Whenever the legislators endeavor to take away and destroy the property of the people, or to reduce them to slavery under arbitrary power, they put themselves into a state of war with the people, who are thereupon absolved from any further obedience.” ~ John Locke
