You might want to check the tank strainer at the bottom of your diesel tank. We did that job this Fall, and found the strainer gunked with biology. When we saw that, we realized why we had a problem a year ago with what we thought was gelled fuel. It was probably not so much gelled fuel, as it was clogged strainer screen.
