I ended up putting a manual 29.95 antenna on my 78 240D-but I did buy a new Hirschmann of the 300D-still in the original box in the trunk and the antenna stuck half up. I can live with the shame of a permanently erect antenna on the 123 since I never go to the car wash or take it where some one is likely to snap of the antenna. It will telescope manually down to about a foot.
