I never did it, but I had plans to install a large red light on the dash in one of my trucks. I even bought the light and probably still have it. It is just one of the red marker lights sold for trailer side markers. I just thought that a big light would be more noticeable than the gauge or small dash light. Might scare you if it went on in the dark.
