Hi, All.
The old ID19 Citroen that I had in the UK had a very large multi-purpose red STOP lamp on the dash for such things as hydraulic failures, oil pressure, ignition etc. Can't understand why they didn't become popular, maybe it was the heart-stopping effect of sudden illumination?
Geez! that was a long time ago.

I never did it, but I had plans to install a large red light on the dash in one

light and probably still have it. It is just one of the red marker lights sold

thought that a big light would be more noticeable than the gauge or small dash
light. Might scare you if it went on
in the dark.

I've always thought that for oil pressure, an audible alarm should accompany
the gauge. Most people (maybe trained
pilots excepted) do not check that continually, and it doesn't take long for a
running engine with zero oil
pressure to damage itself.

Just got home from NYC and ran to the garage to do the triage on Hammie.
As I got near the front I knew it was going to be worse than I feared,
oil on the ground, oil on the grill, oil on the hood. My wife had made it
sound better than it is.

The hose that connected the two oil cooler hoses gave up the ghost, split
right in half actually. Apparently I had treated it too roughly last
weekend in my abortive oil cooler replacement. Worse the replacement oil
cooler has arrived, its on my kitchen table...

Engine is tight, I put a wrench on the PS belt and can spin the belt
right around the main pulley, hit the key and the starter clunks but
nothing else. I didn't want to do more and get greasy with the clothes I
have on.

He was a good friend for 7 years but this is it, off to that great
highway in the sky.

On a positive note the registration for the Red 190D arrived so I'm off
to the registry.
