The only movement you should get is the compression of the rubber. This should be fairly small, of course. Separations between rubber bits and the steel bits they either attach to sit against means the rubber is dead and should be replaced.

If this is a multi-link suspension (I've not been reading the thread in detail), there is no percentage in changing only one set of mounts -- they are all bad. On the W124, you just cannot see the front one easily since in mounts from the other side and the "working" part is hidden in the frame.

I really need to round up the rest of the bits and do mine soon. The rear end is REALLY wobbly.
