You can buy them from the stealership. Atleast the GD one which a bigger clutch than stock. Really not much of a need for it, the 617 revs so much better with the 616 flywheel.

I'm creating a cad model of the flywheel to aid in making the new
adapter plate for my truck.

The 616 flywheel is thinner than the 617 one is, so the lip to
pressure plate measurement would be off a few cm. That's not too big a
problem though. The bolt face to crank face dim should be the same
though, since the same bolts are used between the 616 and 617.

Just remembered I can measure off of the crank on the 616 to get the
bolt circle diameter, there's one down.

I'll scout around on the inner-tubes some more and see if I can find it.

Can I ask why (making your own?)? If no one here can answer ask on
superturbodiesel.com, someone there is bound to have a 240 flywheel sitting

Those measurements are going to be the same on any of the w123 manuals trans
and the manual trans in the Gwagen (om61x powered cars).

Hello all, I've got a small favor to ask.

I'm trying to get the measurements for the manual om617 flywheel, but I
don't
care to pull the engine out of the truck it currently resides in to do it.
I
found a few dimensions in the engine service manual, but the set is
incomplete.

If anyone has an easily accessible flywheel and a set of verniers, and
feels
up to the task, the needed measurements are the thickness from the crank
mating surface to the bolt mating surface, the bolt circle diameter from
center point of bolt holes, and the depth to the pressure plate mating
surface from the face of the lip.

Much thanks to anyone who helps,

Walt
