Yes, that's the part I'm referring to. I couldn't quite make out what it was on mine. I suspected some kind of an undercoat, then painted over. A small chip that came off around the drain hole was quite hard, but I suspect that is just due to age, or that the damage has effected it in some way. Thanks for the tips.
