Blackboards/chalkboards are a no-no for a lot of reasons, the biggest being the 
nasty dust that they create through use. 

Hence the reason for the gradual change to dry erase boards, which (I am told) 
are far healthier.

I don't think I have seen a chalkboard in some years...

here, is they are too good to use good old fashioned blackboards anymore.  They 
all want to use the dry erase boards.  Thats great except the have every kid 
bring a pack of those expensive dry erase markers as part of their supplies 
every year.
