When they pull that cover to replace it I would bet the old one comes out in 2 pieces. I don't anything about resetting the computer with that method so I can't say if it really works or not. One other thing to check also is to see if the big electrical plug at the tranny is leaking. Most of the time that plug needs to be replaced. what happens is it leaks fluid into the wiring harness which can actually wick up and get into the tranny computer causing these sorts of problems
