A lot of shops use a $2000 Snap-On that's supposed to replace all the factory tools. Just subscribing to the updates would price it out of home mechanic reach. It's not your typical $100 OBDII tool.

But given the potential cost of misdiagnosis, I'd run it through the dealer for a quick check and see if they fix it via computer or come up with a different opinion.
