I would not say that a system that requires the transmission to be removed in order to get to the slave cylinder is designed for easy maintenance. It is a circular design that goes around the main input shaft to the transmission. So, you cannot take it out without removing the tranny.

Saab 99s had a slave cylinder like that, but
1. I never saw one leak.
2. I could replace one in a half hour, because the input shaft was removable.
