HIM! Some people thought Patton was arrogant, but compared to
MacArthur, Patton was a very meek humble man.

Everybody remembers Dec 7 at Pearl Harbor, but it seems like nobody
remembers Dec 8 at Clark Field in Manila. The Japanese did to
MacArthur's planes what they'd done several hours before to Admiral
Kimmell's ships.
Kimmell didn't know we were at war. I'm not sure what MacArthur's
excuse was, but the Army Air Corp's Philippine assets were still
lined up on the field in nice neat rows when the Japanese came
calling.
