Than a '72 F250 with a 360? I bet that bruiser is lucky to pull 12mpg, worse if 
its geared low or has a 4spd where 1st is granny low.

A 3/4 ton made today ought to beat that, theres more gears in the transmission 
at least...

I'd love to be able to make an offer on the truck in question though, pull 
starting my Farmall with the Ranger is a trick. I finally made my dad drive the 
pickup because he didn't seem to get the idea that it didn't weigh enough to 
start the tractor from a standstill like a '70s fullsize would.

The newer trucks don't get much, if any, better mpg.
