Coldest Sunday afternoon I've ever experienced (even including 3
winters in NE, 4 in MI UP and parts of 2 in Greenland) was July 4,

SWMBO said, "Let's go down to SF for lunch and the afternoon;" off I
went in short sleeve shirt and no jacket; 'temp in SF about 60F; got
wet on bow of bay cruise boat, etc.
Lesson learned: if you go anywhere in CA ya better take a sweater or
 jacket.

My father related one time when he was activated in the Navy. He left
Miles City, MT, with temperatures of -35 deg.F. and took the train to
Tacoma, WA. He felt colder there at +30 deg.F. than he did in Miles City.

My son went to San Josie in May and left in Dec. a couple of years ago. All summer every picture we saw, they had on jackets. Most of the time they said it was cold and windy. Meanwhile, it was nice here for the summer.
