Yeah, that would be. Pretty much south of San Mateo and Foster City it's more like SoCal than the Bay Area. I didn't know that much about the way the climate changed as you moved up the Peninsula until I lived out there, which was really sort of a surprise to me.
I thought it was almost tropical in the South bay most of the time. I will say this: When I went out to Milpitas to pick up my 1962 300SE, we also made a foray into the Santa Cruz mountains west of Los Gatos to pick up a 1963 280 that was a donor car for the 300SE (I got things like glass and a windshield among other things.) It belonged to a guy I knew in Redwood City who was an automotive glass guy. This car had been sitting next to his parent's garage for many years, supposedly waiting to be resurrected by his dad. I think I paid him $200 for the car. Anyway, here we were in Milpitas and it was easily in the 80s or low 90s. We got a ranch hand from the horse ranch we were staying at (Al Lumas, a fellow MB guy who owns a horse ranch in Milpitas) and his pickup truck with duallies and a tilt bed trailer. We headed up to this guy's parent's house, and by the time we got there the temperature was in the high 30s and the fog was so thick it was like rain. We had to winch the car out of the mud next to the garage, as it was sunk up to it's axles, and drag it on to the trailer. You can see pics of both cars on my Web site.
