only 4 MBs now. Plus the kids' MBs that I do most of the upkeep for.
Dogde van because I can't afford a sprinter, and they are too big for
most of the time.
Do you even own a Mercedes at the moment or have you gone all Chrysler?

I agree 100% with Dan's comment: "I love Finnies." There is
nothing nicer to drive than a Heckflosse, as long as you don't push
it too hard in the corners without weight in the trunk to keep the
rear axle from flopping down. it does not take much. Spar, jack
and a medium toolbox that fits in the left wheelwell is generally
enough. But for ordinary driving, they are a delight. For lousy
driving conditions, I'd rather be in a 110/111 than anything else.
(except maybe a 112) Of these my preference is the 200D. The
visibility is better than any newer car. In dry conditions, the
steering is delightfully light, even without PS. The 110 formed my
lifelong opinion that PS in a car is completely unnecessary.
However, PS on tractors and trucks is nice.
Max of 15 mpg is BS. I could get consistently 17 with a 111
220Sb with the solex carbs. I never drove one with the zeniths,
only 250S and Zeniths, so the 15 mpg may be accurate with zeniths.
Definitely. Lots and lots of warning flags.
My first two would be the lack of trunk and engine compartment
photos. A definite giveaway if there is something to hide.
I posted a question on the eBay auction asking about photos and
why there were a bunch of pine air fresheners all over the back
seat area.
Definitely some fishy things going on there....
I love the finnies!!!

Not a $10,000 car. I would bet that the claim of 53k miles is
bogus. I would win the bet. Why does it have replacement
hubcaps? Replacements are unpainted. Originals are painted.
Seller says "original" Would someone really pay to have someone
use paint stripper to take the paint off the hubcaps? I have
never seen or heard of that. Where is the hump carpet? Where is
all the rest of the floor carpet or mats. In 62, Euro delivery
could have all gummimatten, but most or all sold in the US had
carpet. Why does the headliner have water stain? Why is the
headliner so stained? Years of being driven by a smoker? That
does not correlate with low miles. Why would it need to be
repainted if it was a garage queen? Notice that the seller very
carefully leads you to believe all the body panels are pristine,
but does not say that.
It is a decent 220S, perhaps, but a lot of indications it is
neither low mileage nor well cared for. It could be a rust
bucket with shiny paint to cover up the welding/bondo.
Paint code 140 on the data sheet is silbergrau, so the repaint
is at least close to the original color.
My verdict: lots of warning flags. It might be a decent
starting point, or it may be a complete POS. It is thousands of
dollars away from a 10,000 car.
