That may work, but be aware that you should swap out battery once a year. They tend to die after a year of charge/discharge. An other thing to consider is that the tiny solar panel gets weathered in two years and no longer converts photons to electrons very well. You will need at least six hours of direct sun contact to keep the thing charged enough. Look for six volt lights, since that provides enough electrons to power the thing for more than four hours
