123 cars don't centrally lock/unlock from ANY lock but the driver's side. It's a distinct possibility that the dealer-cut key was cut incorrectly - I've had it happen to me. Of course, when it happened to me, I had another key to compare it to, showed the parts guy at the dealership, and they ordered me a new (properly-cut) one.
