Last time I was on the 15 heading out of San Bernardino towards Vegas there
was no sand storm. It was heavy traffic with the right lane cruising about
80-90 and the left lane was going around 100-105 MPH. The only people
getting pulled over were losing their licenses. What amazed me more than
the speed was that you could see miles of tail lights traveling across the
desert. I left like I was part of a high speed train or convoy. It wasn't
until the Nevada line that traffic broke up.

I have driven through dust storms in New Mexico. One of them involved a
road closure on I-40. We were traveling East. New Mexico drives
instinctively veered across the median to I-40 W and doubled back to the
next exit and took the local road which was not closed.
