Since I intend for my '84 300D to be my last car and last me the rest of my days, I replaced the RF & LR fenders in '09 after finding rust that I was convinced would spread. I've had rust "repaired" in the past by reputable establishments only for rust to reappear a couple years later. Even if I need to replace the LF & RR fenders at some point in the future, it's worth it to me. G. M.
