I've done that on a 123 also but in this case either the wrench was pointed in the wrong direction (needing the jack to pull it down) or was at such an angle because of the strut being in the way that I couldn't make it work.
BTW I didn't heat the bolt, I heated the casting the bolt goes into. If you heat the bolt it expands and gets tighter in the hole. When you heat the casting the space gets bigger and the bolt comes out. -Curt Date: Mon, 10 Sep 2012 14:26:20 -0700 From: "Greg Fiorentino" <gf...@dslnorthwest.net> To: "'Mercedes Discussion List'" <mercedes@okiebenz.com> Subject: Re: [MBZ] 190D brakes Message-ID: <023701cd8f9a$ed142b70$c73c8250$@net> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" << On the other side one of the big bolts that holds the caliper on would NOT come off. I think those bolts are heat-treated alloy, I wonder if the blue wrench might weaken them. MB recommends new bolts when replacing these, and it might be a good idea if heat is applied.
