Why couldn't you unscrew one of the sensors in the head on a 617 in order to
burp it?

Old Saab 99 (B20 engine) had a little hose bib on the t-stat housing.
You could open it up until coolant started to come out, or if you really
wanted to get every bit of air you could stick a hose on the nipple and
siphon some coolant out with the engine running. One of those things that
made me wonder why every car didn't have one.
