Well the voltage readings no longer fluctuate. Not sure what was going on. Now it just doesn't charge period. Drove it back from ME to MA today. Started at 12.45 V and ended with 12.08 V after using heater fan a few times to keep the GF warm:)
Thinking about just trying one of Curt's spare VR/brush modules and taking it from there.
