I have been using Tri-Flow for some years, originally on sewing machines (where it is better than the real stuff on high-speed parts) but its use has extended to cars and locks and bikes and everything else. The first time I ordered the spray bottle, but there is a pencil/needle applicator in the bicycle section at Wal-Mart that is more expensive but oh-so-much easier to get into those little nooks and crannies. I have used it on my locks, speedometer, sunroof and seat slides, but not on my slide rule. The spray has worked well even without the addition of extra grease, I suppose it probably loosens the old grease - I didn't think it would be a long term solution but it's been a couple years since I've had to reapply. The pencil is liquid oil, it is great for locks but not so great for big surface areas.
