Thanks, Craig. Something occurred to me on this:
Is the bolt that holds the fan clutch to the water pump right hand or left hand thread? If it's left hand I wasn't turning in the correct direction.... considering that the rated torque is only 10 nm for this fastener, I should have been able to break it loose easily. <scratching head> Dan On May 16, 2013, at 12:01 AM, Craig wrote: > On Wed, 15 May 2013 12:39:20 -0400 Dan Penoff <d...@penoff.com> wrote: > >> I'm talking about my S500, so that is the M119. >> >> Is there a place for a pin or something to lock the pulley? > > Dan, > > I have attached section 20-3120 of the CD manual. > > On the M119, there apparently is no place for a pin or something to lock > the pulley like on the M104. > > Instead a special tool, 603 589 00 40 00, is slipped over the edge of the > fan pulley and the serpentine belt.
