I'm with Wilton on the chipper-shredder. I had one (maybe 8 HP) but got rid
of it. It was somewhat useful when I lived in an urban environment with
trees. In the country I just throw branches, etc. into the woods. I do
have a huge leaf problem. Now I use a lawn vac that tows behind the lawn
tractor (tractor-style riding mower). If I don't let the leaves get more
than a few inches deep it sucks them right up, mulches them, and deposits
them in a dump trailer. I have a huge mulch pile now for flower beds,
trees, etc.

Thanks all ---

SWMBO wants leaves chopped up for the compost heap, and branches chipped
for walks/mulching.
It doesn't sound like the cheap units are up to the tasks, and the good
ones will be more than she wants to spend --
