I had 2" in my back yard rain gauge (NW D.C.) by 7 AM today, with another 2" expected. This is NOT a trivial amount.
It would have been way more fun if that had been snow. About 48" of snow in DC in june would have protected us all (from congressional mischief) for about a week.
