The reason why there is an automatic in a turbodiesel is because it is a better match to the power and torque than a manual transmission is! A turbo with a manual transmission will be quite slow at low speeds relative to it's power. The 5 speed 717.4xx transmissions from a 201 or 124 will be fine (the clutch might be a challenge if you drive aggressively).
