I have a cyclical rumble felt in the seat from about 30mph up. It
occurs primarily when engine is under load (accelerating or
maintaining speed up a hill). Its about one second on, one off.
Seems like it might get slightly faster with speed. It's not
terribly annoying but would like to fix it if possible.

Someone told me this is the natural vibes of a straight 5
cylinder. Not sure if i believe that.

It is not normal. At least, I have never felt it on any of the
half-dozen or so OM-617s I've driven.

Is it engine or road speed related? That is, in 2nd gear does it
do it at the same RPM or same MPH as when it's in 3rd gear?

Does it change if you let up on the go pedal?

If so and if it is related more to road speed than engine RPM, then I'd guess driveshaft. Someone may have taken the driveshaft apart and not put it back the right way. There are 38 wrong ways and only one right way it goes back together if someone takes the slip joint apart.

Simplest fix is to buy a used driveshaft. KALEB! do you have one for sale?
