I rec'd this from Sun Valley:
<<*check to see if it is getting power during kick down to the kick down solenoid. **
**It is located on the back of the transmission, with one wire. *>>>

Maybe i _/*will*/_ get a long distance diagnosis? ;-)

Thanks -

I bought one of the transmissions from Sun Valley through Rusty in Dec 2011. A few days ago I noticed that 1st gear is not being selected when I push the pedal to the floor when leaving a stop sign. It does not go into 1st using the lever either so I guess that lets the pedal switch out...

I checked the switch under the accelerator pedal and it is not blocked or being prevented from engaging.

Is this a problem that might be transmission related or is it more likely a switch, wiring or a vacuum line? Are there other black boxes that might be at fault. I know you cannot diagnose it long distance, -- I am just looking for a "best guess" reply. I know I need to have the shop that installed it check things but I hope to find a cheaper way....

I also sent the above to Sun Valley -- but i wanted the experts here to tell me something good ;-) BTW, it comes with a 2 yr unltd mileage warranty -- but not the labor....
