Or at least pull the plug and drain it into something clean so you could further inspect it.

I think I might do the plug rather than use the $2 oil sucker to see what comes out in what order.

If there is no sign of milky stuff then I doubt there is coolant in it.

If there is no milky oil, I might consider pouring in some new oil and driving it a bit to see if it does it again.

My mechanic son was commenting on some tool they have at the shop that will tell him if there is evidence of combustion gases in the coolant too. You might find a shop that could test the coolant and tell you if there is any evidence of a leaking head gasket or crack.
