Are you pulling a WILTON?
Thinking the worst of a problem?
K1 and B2 and flush sounds like somewhat easy work but it might not
solve a problem?  Can you or okiebenz suggest more diagnosis paths to
engage prior to a fix guess?  K1/B2/flush is not bad guess...
...just sayin'...

It has always needed the K1spring since i got it. B2 may not be necessary, but I don't think it is terribly expensive.
