Hi all.I'm new to the list, brought on board by my friend, Clay.I recently
bought a '73 450sl. Someone tried to break into the trunk before I bought it.
I had a new trunk lock-cylinder keyed to match my ignition, but it came from a
newer sedan, and the bracket that houses the cylinder is different. (Too
"stout" -the latch won't clear) If anyone has the correct bracket for this
model/year or knows where to get one, I'd be very grateful. Thanks,-Andy

My Nikon Coolpix 775 has different sizes of pictures one can choose

Just hang a piece of foil up behind it...

Despite having internal antennas, most of these new "encapsulated" routers
often have fittings for external antennas.

You might also see what is available in the way of antennas for the endpoint.
I have gone that route with some success on desktop machines.

Right, but you get interference patterns that cancel the signal in some
places, and boost it in others without properly placing the reflector -

Funny how when Klebby posts pictures, they get approved in a nano
second, us peasants sit there for days/weeks/years waiting.

Seriously though, my take is that a 108/9 is a car that is suited to an
enthusiast who really loves these cars and is willing to put the effort
into them.
Unless you get lucky and find a minter for cheap (grandma selling off
grandpas old car type of thing), there is not much money to be made.
Parts for these things are getting rarer and rarer, most bits on the car
are 40 years old and will need replacing sooner rather than later.
Looking at those pics, the dash is cracked, the seats are cracked, the
wood work is faded, the body is average and that's not even getting into
the mechanicals.
If the body was close to perfect on that car, I would say it would be a
worthwhile proposition, insofar that you don't have to spend money on it
and can focus on the interior and mechanicals.

Subject: Re: [MBZ] 108

I had a slightly different epiphany - when i was doing 90in my 911 I
could see waaaaay in the distance a big Buick slowly pulling out in
front of me. I thought - "They have no idea how fast I am
approaching" as I got on the brakes and slowed dramatically. That was
the last time i drove in "Go to Jail Territory". It's just too
dangerous. People just don't expect a road rocket to be heading toward
them and the fast driver has _/all /_the responsibility to avoid the
accident. Many people can't even see a small sports car several hundred
yards in the distance much less estimate how fast they're approaching.

BTW, i know I was being irresponsible by driving so fast on a public
road and never drove that fast again...

BTW, a few years ago the speed limits in Montana and N. Dakota were not
enforced. I've even heard that people from Europe have brought their
fast cars over specifically to drive on those interstates because the
Autobahn was becoming so congested. That was on a program called
/Modern Marvels - The Autobahn/ and included a great snip of a SL
tumbling over and over from "high speed" then seeing the driver hop out
and walk to the hill next to the highway. They said the Germans built
cars that could survive and excel on the unlimited speed zones. It was
pretty impressive. I believe it's still on Youtube in several parts....
BTW, there wasn't much left of that SL!
