I remember getting a Bilstein steering damper a VW long time ago.
It never went out as long as I had the truck.

Sachs were OEM for same cars I think
But I'd go for Bilsteins. I bought a set of Sachs for a 300SD
once upon a
time and had one fail completely after an year or two. Bounce bounce
bounce bounce bounce bounce... After that, I only go with Bilstein.
