Thanks Clay. I was pretty happy to dodge that one too.
That is the second time I have had a similar near miss with the car.
I think perhaps its low power is what saved me in the sense that the other driver took off quicker than I did and was ahead of me rather than beside me. Given the size of the SUV, he might not have seen me beside him even if he looked unless he used his right side mirror.

I am not impressed with the driving ability of orientals. I am pretty sure the
ones across the street are PLA spies. Been there two years and seem to get new

Benz, now it is BMW. I had a good snicker this past weekend when the fold down
hard top was left down overnight while the massive thunder storm blew through.
The red leather looked very unhappy with a few inches of water all over it.

Who is glad you and the car are both doing well

I just about had the old 300D wiped out yesterday.
My younger son and I were on our way to a big car show that is sponsored by the
Fabulous 50's Ford Club here annually in early September.
We were turning left in one of those double left turn setups, if you understand
what I mean.
We were southbound on McPhillips Street turning east onto Leila Avenue. There
are 2 dedicated left turn lanes and I was in the outside lane.
A fellow of Asian descent was in the other lane in a late model black SUV. The
light turned in our favour and we both moved forward but as he turned the
corner he drifted from the inside lane to the outside lane where I was.
I don't know how I managed to dodge him and I don't think he even knew I was
there. What a jacka**.

My son's comment was, that insurance would likely pay me more than I might be
able to sell the car for.
Always a bright side I suppose as long as one does not get injured.
