The procedure has you check voltage at different pins and the KLIMA, jump a couple of pins to see if the compressor kicks on etc but do not have all the details in front of me.

problem is.  If you apply 12v directly to it and it does not come up then yes I 
would say the coil is bad.  If it does come on the problem is elsewhere.
