I considered that, but one of the hard lines that goes around the back of the compressor is bolted up in a way I don't think I can get at it.

Thanks for the suggestion, though.

I relented and drained the cooling system and pulled the radiator. Major PITA, but only took about 15 minutes. I knew that would be the case just as it is with 123 and 126 chassis', too, as they all come out in a jiffy. Just a mess I didn't want to deal with, but....

Took a couple of tries with the snap ring pliers but I got it out.

Drum roll, please.......................

The ground wire was broken on the clutch coil right behind the pulley.

<wah, wah, wah>

No worries, as there is no way we could have seen it without pulling everything off anyway, but at least it confirms that the clutch coil, was, in fact, not working.

So I'm taking a respite to recover from my frustrations and in an hour or so I'll start putting everything back together.

More as I know it, and thanks to all who offered advice and suggestions.

Dan

When I did mine I unbolted the compressor so I could tilt it downward and get a straight shot at the front
