Tom, you drove from AZ to PA in about 2 1/2 days? That sounds like straight-through driving with no sleep stops. But you say you paid for hotels. How did you do this?

I have driven with a buddy from AZ to MN in about 48 hours, but this was with sleeping in rest stops. I have also driven from MN to Northern MD (I lived about one mile from the PA border for a while). It seemed to be somewhat near the time investment as the previosly mentioned tirp.

At any rate, just curious. In fact, my wife and I plan to fly to AZ and pick up our 240D and drive 'er back to MN. Many of you may be privy to my saga. Yes, we are buying a one-way ticket this time once again. Taking a risk to save that money. As long as the new (used) engine is good and the mechanic does us right, we will have quite an enjoyable little road trip. I know that transporting a vehicle this distance runs about $1,000. I don't think we'll save much doing the drive, but we want to visit family out there anyway.
