If you have extra time, and like wineries, Burgdorf winery in Lansing is quite interesting. She is a biochemist. They make a lot of small batches and also have a DIY operation where they supervise the DIYers and answer questions etc. They have a fermentation room for the DIY crowd.
Then up the road north is Uncle John's Cider Mill and Fruit House Winery. They have a lot of wines and distilled products, but the specialties are cider and perry. Run by the Beck family for a hundred years, but the winery is only 10-15 old. Güt schtuff
