Look at medical volunteers going into some countries to provide vaccinations and being killed for their efforts at charitable work. Look at cultures that kill girls if they try to become educated. Look at cultural values among some subculture groups in the US where violence and the degradation of women is promoted in their "songs", or the adulation of criminals by Mexico's Narcocorridos. Sometimes poverty and economic disparity is caused by poor cultural values!
