Mine burns auto gas at $3.50/gal at the rate of 10GPH, so $35/hr. or so for local flying. AV gas varies wildly from airport to airport, but averages around $6/gal, so $60/hr. cross country. Slower aircraft are usually more economical to fly as the increase in speed is not proportional to the increase in power (and fuel consumption).
