There are a couple really nice jack points on w123s depending on need:

Both front tires?  Front crossmember.
Both rear tires?  Differential.
One front tire?  Frame rail behind the factory jack point.
One rear tire? Subframe bushing plate (just watch out and don't crush the limit stop).

Plenty of others that are "safe", but utility is questionable for the majority of work when another method would be preferential.
