Anyone have any luck doing anything with stuff like this?
I've had very good luck keeping things with real power switches going. Things with push-on/push-off always on circuitry, and switching power supplies --- not so much. The TV got fixed, but only by wholesale replacement of the power supply board. SMPS's are usually slightly tricky circuitry, and component values may be critical.
