No, I meant what I said. The original 109 had the M189, which is a modified 300SL engine first used in the Adenour outside the 300SL, so the original 109 300SEL was a 4 door version of the 300SL. With the M130, it had no ties to the 300Sl, except maybe the differential.

300SLs did exist in 1969, and do exist now. The were no longer in production in 1969.

You mean 300SE L. 300SL does not exist in 1969.
