We're also talking about really small amounts of data, 400-500MB is nothing,
who cares?

I'm not sure why you are blaming Windows for these types of files. I set Norton
to clear all of these periodically (or you can yourself whenever you want). I
thought CCCleaner was to clean the registry and not temporary files or log
files? I run CCCleaner about once a year to clear my registry. Otherwise, I let
Norton clean the rest.
Also, I've found more problems with Edge and Firefox lately because of the
crappy code advertisers are giving them to display their ads. This doesn't seem
to be a browser problem as much as the people accepting the bad ad code (AOL,
Comcast, etc.)
